The Chaput lab would like to extend our congratulations to Dr. Hui Mei, who has recently accepted a faculty position from the Institute of Synthetic Biology (iSynBio) of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
After his postdoctoral tenure at UCI, Dr. Mei pursued additional postdoctoral training with Dr. Eric Kool at Stanford University, where he assisted with the synthesis of “designer nucleobases and nucleotides, with unusual properties such as fluorescence, enzyme reactivity, or altered shape and H-bonding ability”. Congrats to Dr. Mei on his new endeavors in academia as a faculty member.
